Synopsis
Aftersun follows Sophie as she reflects on a holiday she shared with her loving but troubled father Calum at a Turkish resort when she was eleven. Decades later, she pieces together fragmented memories and old camcorder recordings, gradually recognizing a darkness in her father she couldn't understand as a child. Charlotte Wells' intimate debut is a poignant meditation on memory, parenthood, mental health, and the painful gaps between what we see and what we feel.
