Asteroid City

Set in a fictional 1955 American desert town, 'Asteroid City' follows a group of students, parents, and teachers whose Junior Stargazer competition is suddenly disrupted by an extraterrestrial event. Framed as a television documentary exploring the creation of a stage play, the film blends grief, wonder, and absurdist humor in quintessential Wes Anderson style. With a star-studded ensemble cast, the film meditates on art, loss, and the human need to make sense of inexplicable experiences.

• Wes Anderson assembled one of his largest ensemble casts ever.
• The film uses a play-within-a-TV-show narrative structure.
• Shot on location in the Spanish desert, doubling for Arizona.
• Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks joined the Anderson universe here.
• The fictional 1955 town was built entirely as a practical set.

• You can't wake up if you don't fall asleep.
• We're all just trying to get through the day.
• I'm not sure I understand the play, but I feel it.
• Asteroid City. Population: 87. Elevation: 3,009 feet.
• Just keep telling the story, even if you don't understand it.
