Synopsis

Blue Jasmine follows Jasmine French, a once-glamorous New York socialite who loses everything after her fraudulent husband's downfall and moves in with her working-class sister in San Francisco. Oscillating between painful flashbacks and a desperate present, Jasmine struggles with mental instability, pride, and self-deception as she attempts to reinvent herself. Woody Allen's 2013 drama is a sharp, darkly comedic character study anchored by Cate Blanchett's towering, Oscar-winning performance.

Why Watch It
Cate Blanchett delivers a masterclass in unraveling privilege and self-deception, commanding every scene with brittle charm and barely concealed panic. Allen strips away the comedy to explore how easily the wealthy rationalize their damage onto others, building toward an ending that refuses easy redemption.
