Why Eltorama recommends this film

De Palma's *Carrie* crystallizes the slasher template through its fusion of supernatural revenge and high school cruelty, establishing the teenage girl as horror's most potent vessel for both victimhood and retribution—a dynamic that continues defining the genre's moral architecture decades later. The film's split-screen prom sequence transforms intimate humiliation into apocalyptic violence, creating the visual and thematic language that countless horror films have since inherited.
