Coming to America

Coming to America follows Prince Akeem of the fictional African kingdom of Zamunda, who travels to New York City to find a woman he can love for herself, not her royal obligations. Disguising himself as a poor student, Akeem falls for a spirited, independent woman named Lisa, navigating culture clashes, comedy, and romance along the way. The film became a beloved comedy classic, showcasing Eddie Murphy's remarkable range and comedic genius.

• Eddie Murphy played four different characters in the film.
• John Landis directed both Murphy and Dan Aykroyd together.
• The barbershop scenes were largely improvised by the cast.
• Murphy and Arsenio Hall wore heavy prosthetic makeup for roles.
• Art Buchwald sued Paramount, claiming the story was his idea.

• That's a damn shame.
• I am Akeem, and I am looking for my queen.
• Good morning, my neighbors! YES, YES, YES!
• The royal penis is clean, Your Highness.
• It's not just a film, it's an experience, baby!
