Synopsis
Based on Carl Sagan's 1985 novel, Contact follows Dr. Ellie Arroway, a passionate SETI researcher who discovers a mysterious signal from the star Vega that contains instructions for building a mysterious machine. The film explores profound themes of faith, science, politics, and humanity's place in the universe as Ellie fights skeptics and bureaucrats for the chance to represent Earth on an extraordinary journey.
