Synopsis

In 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', Joel Barish (played by Jim Carrey) decides to undergo a medical procedure to erase all memories of his ex-girlfriend, Clementine (Kate Winslet). However, as he watches his memories of her fade away, he realizes he still loves her and starts fighting to keep his memories.

Why Watch It
A devastating romance told backwards as memories dissolve, anchored by raw performances from Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet that strip away his comedic persona. Gondry's inventive visual language—melting landscapes, collapsing architecture, hand-crafted effects—makes the interior of the mind feel viscerally real. It's a film that breaks your heart while you're watching it disappear.
