Synopsis
Frozen River follows Ray Eddy, a struggling mother in upstate New York who partners with a Mohawk woman to smuggle illegal immigrants across the frozen St. Lawrence River. Driven by financial desperation and the need to provide a home for her children, Ray is drawn deeper into dangerous criminal activity. The film is a raw, intimate portrait of poverty, survival, and unlikely friendship.
