Synopsis

Funny Games is an Austrian psychological thriller directed by Michael Haneke, following a bourgeois family whose holiday is shattered when two polite but sadistic young men take them hostage. The film deliberately breaks the fourth wall, forcing viewers to confront their own appetite for screen violence. Haneke crafted it as a provocative critique of the horror genre and media desensitization to brutality.
