Synopsis

Kim Jee-woon's most extreme film is a study of revenge as moral contagion: the protagonist's slow transformation into the thing he hunts is delivered with a cruelty rare even in Korean genre cinema. Almost every scene contains a Hitchcockian reversal of who has the power.

Why Watch It
A visceral descent into moral darkness where a secret agent systematically hunts a serial killer, transforming himself into something equally monstrous in the process. Kim Jee-woon orchestrates brutal cat-and-mouse games with meticulous precision, and the film's unflinching intensity forces you to confront uncomfortable questions about justice and revenge. Electrifying performances and a relentless pace make this one of cinema's most unsettling psychological thrillers.

Why Eltorama recommends this film

Kim Jee-woon\'s revenge thriller keeps reversing the predator/prey roles until both men are unrecognizable — a Hitchcockian cat-and-mouse weaponized to its limit.
