In 'Klute', a small-town detective named John Klute is hired to investigate the disappearance of a friend in New York City. During his investigation, he becomes involved with a prostitute, Bree Daniels, who may be able to help him solve the case.

Why Watch It
Jane Fonda delivers a career-defining performance as a guarded sex worker navigating power dynamics with intelligence and dark humor, anchoring this neo-noir thriller that prizes psychological texture over plot mechanics. Director Alan J. Pakula crafts an unsettling atmosphere of urban paranoia and voyeurism, making the investigation feel less like a mystery to solve than a character study in survival and self-protection.
