Synopsis

Moonstruck is a romantic comedy-drama set in Brooklyn's Italian-American community, following Loretta Castorini, a practical widow who reluctantly agrees to marry a safe but unexciting man. Everything changes when she meets his younger brother Ronny, a brooding baker consumed by passion and intensity. The film is a warm, witty celebration of love, family, and the irrational magic of romance.

Why Watch It
A perfectly pitched romantic comedy that finds genuine magic in family chaos and second chances. Cher delivers a career-best performance as a pragmatic widow who discovers passion can upend even the most sensible plans, all while an ensemble cast of eccentric Brooklynites steals every scene. Jewison's film moves with operatic flair—literally incorporating Puccini—to create something that feels both wildly fun and unexpectedly moving.
