Synopsis
Ordinary People follows the Jarrett family as they navigate emotional collapse following the accidental drowning death of their eldest son Buck. While the surviving son Conrad battles survivor's guilt and depression with the help of his therapist Dr. Berger, his cold and controlled mother Beth struggles to reconnect with the family, ultimately exposing deep cracks in their seemingly perfect suburban life. Robert Redford's intimate and powerful directorial debut is a raw exploration of grief, repression, and the courage required to heal.
