Synopsis
Ingmar Bergman's 'Persona' follows Elisabet Vogler, an actress who suddenly stops speaking, and Alma, the nurse assigned to her care, as they retreat to an isolated island cottage. As the two women spend more time together, the boundaries between their identities begin to dissolve in deeply unsettling ways. Regarded as one of cinema's greatest achievements, the film is a haunting exploration of identity, psychological fragmentation, and the nature of the self.
