Synopsis
Salvador follows burnt-out freelance journalist Richard Boyle as he travels to El Salvador during its brutal civil war, witnessing government-sanctioned atrocities, the assassination of Archbishop Romero, and the murder of American nuns. James Woods delivers a raw, fearless performance as Boyle, a deeply flawed man who finds unexpected conviction amid the bloodshed and political corruption. Directed by Oliver Stone, the film is a visceral and unflinching indictment of U.S. foreign policy in Latin America during the Reagan era.
