Synopsis

'Slither' is a 2006 science fiction horror film directed by James Gunn in his directorial debut. The film revolves around a small town in South Carolina that is invaded by a malevolent alien parasite. The residents are turned into zombies and mutant monsters, creating chaos and horror.

Why Watch It
James Gunn transforms small-town sci-fi horror into gleefully grotesque comedy, delivering buckets of practical gore and creature effects that feel genuinely imaginative rather than recycled. Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks anchor the chaos with charismatic performances that never wink at the absurdity—they commit fully, which makes the body horror and alien hijinks land harder than they have any right to.
