Why Watch It
# The Amityville Horror (1979)

Rosenberg crafts a slow-burn haunted house film that trades jump scares for creeping dread, letting the malevolent atmosphere corrode the family's sanity from within. James Brolin and Margot Kidder anchor the psychological unraveling with genuine conviction, while Lalo Schifrin's unsettling score seeps into every shadowed corner—this is 70s horror that trusts restraint over spectacle.
