Why Watch It
Wes Craven's debut remains a visceral gut-punch that transformed horror into a weapon of moral outrage—raw, unpolished, and genuinely disturbing in ways most films won't dare attempt. The home invasion reversal that anchors the narrative flips victimhood into something far more complicated, forcing audiences to confront their own bloodlust. A landmark of exploitation cinema that proves restraint isn't always necessary when conviction is absolute.
