Synopsis

In this dark Southern Gothic thriller, a self-proclaimed preacher with 'LOVE' and 'HATE' tattooed on his knuckles marries a widow to find money her late husband concealed before execution. When the children refuse to reveal the secret, a terrifying chase ensues across a haunting American landscape. Directed by Charles Laughton with expressionistic visuals, the film is now considered one of cinema's greatest masterpieces.
