Directed by JR, Agnès Varda
Synopsis

Agnès Varda's penultimate film is a road movie about friendship across generations and about the fragile dignity of small French towns. Each portrait pasted on a barn or train car becomes a small monument that the film knows will not last, which is precisely the point.

  • Each massive portrait was pasted in a single location for a single moment.

  • "Each face tells a story."
  • "I want to remember the moment."

Agnès Varda and the photographer JR drive through French villages making giant portraits — the documentary becomes a love letter from one art form to another, and from age to youth.
